The Forum of Vietnam Democracy
The Forum of Vietnam Democracy belongs to all Vietnamese who love a Democratic society, Justice, Equality. For Democracy is the foundation of Liberty, Prosperity and Happiness.
The birth of The Forum of Vietnam Democracy is a natural outcome of the cooperative process among the many separate individuals who care deeply about Democracy and who voluntarily come together in the spirit of exchange and promoting the free flow of information. We encourage the sharing of ideas in a civil society, discussing social issues and the various activities to safeguard citizenship rights and benefits.
The Uniqueness of The Forum of Vietnam Democracy
Is based on the casual and friendly coterie (meeting) of democratic people, without regards to age, religion, sex, party affiliation. This is where people can sit and discuss about the future of Vietnam in mutual respect and civility to build consensus, in the hope that the handshakes of thousand and million of democratic people will create a force to lead our country to Freedom.
The Forum of Vietnam Democracy is the collective voice of the people of Vietnam addressing the common issues and concerns that affect Vietnam society in the hope to raise consciousness among various governments and international organizations regarding our plight, and to enlist their support to push back the negative effects of poor governance and promote the Democratization process of the country so that Vietnamese can live in a Free, Just and Prosperous Society.
Therefore, Vietnamese cannot be indifferent to the current national situation. Our people cannot remain irresponsible in the face of our risky future. Our hearts propel us to get involved and to act. Thus the need to act is the most correct way to achieve our goals.
In order to achieve a Democratic society, patriotic Vietnamese everywhere must shoulder our responsibility for our fatherland, and ally with The Forum of Vietnam Democracy.
The Forum of Vietnam Democracy has come into existence to help push the government and the Party to affect a Just and Democratic Society. Everyone has the right to run for office, and is allowed to freely elect a new Congress of their choice. Through the Congress, the People will realize their dream of checking on the Executive and Judicial branches. Any and all individuals in the government who are not competent or worthy of their stations need to be replaced. The people must truly be the master of their country. The Forum of Vietnam Democracy is not an organization or an association, thus we do not have an organizational hierarchy. Wherever region or locale The Forum of Vietnam Democracy situates, it would bear the name of that locale.
The Forum of Vietnam Democracy in each locale (block, neighborhood, ward, precinct, municipality, city, county) will nominate their representative or committee, according to the decision of each area.
Presently , in Vietnam human rights are being severely violated, people’s basic civil rights: The rights to freedom of expression, communication, and association, the rights to form parties, the right to assembly and freedom of religions… are still not being respected by the government of Vietnam. We, The Forum of Vietnam Democracy, are calling on the leaders of various nations, and the people of the world over who love democracy and liberty, Human Rights, particularly Vietnamese both in and outside Vietnam to support The Forum of Vietnam Democracy in the struggle for the rights to be human.

THE CALL TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FORUM OF VIETNAM DEMOCRACY
TO: All brothers and sisters, friends and associates who care about Freedom, Democracy and Human Rights. Today the 1st of January 2007 in Vietnam, The Forum of Vietnam Democracy proclaims our beginning with the goal to:
- To spearhead the Democratization of Vietnam.
- To establish Freedom, Democracy, Prosperity and Happiness for the People of Vietnam who have been aspiring for these dreams over the years.
- To Vietnamese who love their country and their fellowmen and women, please join The Forum of Vietnam Democracy to reclaim the basic values of Liberty, Democracy, and Equality for Vietnam.
- The Forum of Vietnam Democracy coordinates the activities of all Social strata, all Associations, Religions, Ethnicities, Patriots, and Parties who agree to pursue the ultimate objectives: To exhort and establish a Vietnam that is Free, Democratic and Prosperous.
